ST. LUCIE WEST — Do you know the most deserving mom in the world, even if it’s just in your little part of the world?

Does this mom you know give 100 percent and ask for little in return? Does she take care of the house, the kids, the dog, the cat and everyone but herself? Does she volunteer in her community to make the world a little bit better for everyone else? And after all that, does she need some well deserved pampering?

Well, here’s your chance to give her a great gift, the chance of a fabulous beauty makeover.

Several local businesses have teamed up to provide one lucky mom an "Ultimate Mom Makeover." The idea was the brainchild of local dental practice SAH Dentistry.

“We started out thinking of donating some cosmetic dentistry for someone as a Mother’s Day promotion, but it quickly morphed into a much larger event,” said Dr. Ryan Askeland, partner at SAH Dentistry.

“There are so many women in St. Lucie County who do so much for their families, employers, and community, but neglect themselves entirely. We want to be able to give something back to one of them.”

The local businesses who are sponsoring the promotion and the service they will be donating include cosmetic dentistry by SAH Dentistry; facial cosmetic services by Dr. Lee of Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center; a day of pampering at Vivid Hair Design and Spa; optometry services from Dr. Alan H. Siegel; a beautiful piece of jewelry from Jay’s Fine Jewelry; a relaxing weekend at the Hampton Inn St. Lucie West; a night of fun at a St. Lucie Mets game; and more.

Dr. Lee, of Lee Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, was excited about being a part of the makeover. “We believe everyone should ‘be their own original’ just as these moms have demonstrated,” he said. “And we’re so happy to help bring out that originality.”

Simply go to the contest website at www.ultimatemommakeover.com and download the contest application and official contest rules. You’ll need to write an essay of 1,000 words or less on why the mom you’re entering deserves to win and submit it along with your application form and a close-up facial photo and smile of the mom to ultimatemommakeover@gmail.com.

The Contest began on May 9 and ends on June 6 at 5 p.m. Three finalists will be chosen and the winner will be announced June 10 during the St. Lucie Mets game at Digital Domain Park in St. Lucie West. The winner will spend the next few weeks getting her “makeover,” and the winner’s new look will be revealed on August 12 during another St. Lucie Mets game.

Remember, this doesn’t have to be your mom. It just needs to be a mom you know who you think really deserves a makeover and some extra pampering. Enter your “Mom” today.
