ST. LUCIE WEST — Doctors Craig Stranigan, Ryan Askeland and Brent Harris each have their own patients, families and hobbies. But one of the things they have in common is their desire to give back to the community, especially children.

As parents themselves, they know how important it is to give children a strong foundation in health, education and welfare. So when local resident and baseball star Scott Proctor asked them to sponsor M.E.’s Team Benefit Concert, they didn’t hesitate to offer their support.

Harris actually heard about the fundraiser through patient, Roy McSweeney. “As soon as Mr. McSweeney told me about this organization and what they are doing, I was on board,” said Harris. “Plus, this is just an awesome event for our community.”

The event is a series of concerts, parties and clay-shooting tournaments lasting for two days, Jan. 27 - 28.

Country music sensation Luke Bryan will headline the concert, along with Lee Brice, Josh Thompson and others.

“I know our staff was pretty excited about the concert,” Harris said. “So an amazing event coupled with the ability to give back to so many in the community made the decision to sponsor this organization an easy one for us.”

M.E.’s Team Foundation was founded by Scott and Carrie Proctor after learning their own daughter needed life-saving heart surgery shortly after her birth.
